Appropedia is wiki for all aspects of sustainability, including permaculture.

The Appropedia would be happy to connect to the Chaordic Permaculture Institute and support its work in permaculture and transition. How can we best do that? (Note: I wasn't sure how to engage, so I left this note. -- Chris Watkins, Appropedia Foundation.)

Note from Stella: if you are a permaculture designer you can put your profile up in this Institute, see PROFILES, then you can start a 'Lab' about this project.  But please put your profile up first, as this site exists primarily to decrease anonymity within our network (see purpose of this Institute in FrontPage.

The appropedia project is great (I have it linked to our farms' designs wiki from time) but there are many international permaculture lists where it would be more effective perhaps to let people know about your project and invite collaborators.

One of the ideas behind the CPI is that it facilitates access to the ultimate and most uptodate permaculture database - which resides in people's heads: and the most appropiate technology to get to it is probably friendship, ultimately.  And / or employment (if you want the services of experts for something).     Here we just provide the introductions (and where there is time to do so create 'Labs' to signpost where we know there is some intensive research going on so others can join them).    It would be great if you link appropedia to here so if people need help with a specific technology they can easily look up people who work primarily with this stuff.

What do you think?
