Proposal

Proposal for an International Journal for Permaculture Designers that is

- pioneering in content

- with international distribution

- freely available via Internet

- with content in various languages (+ translation where possible)

Editorial Board

Calling now for the creation of the Editorial Board of this new Journal

& we invite you to participate

or propose people that you reccommend to form part of the group

+ more who still have to create their profiles (from Latin America)

This would involve a maximum responsibility but minimum time commitment:

- to be involved in shaping initial policy for the journal

- supplying a minimum of one article per year (by you or sponsored / suggested by you)

This is a call to create an Editorial Board between 10 to 30 people in order to ensure a project that is wide in reach and balanced at the same time

(that reflects as much as possible the international reality of our permaculture network), with these initial criteria:

- all practitioner permaculture designers with more than 5 years of design experience

- with profiles in the Chaordic PC Institute (transparency)

- 2/3 from the 'Two Thirds World' ('developing countries' of Latinamerica, Africa, India, etc.)

- 50% women

Work Programme

We wish to create a truly participatory and open design and to this end propose the following Draft Programme, which will be edited by those who decide to join the RIDeP email list (see above):

January 2009

Sent proposal RIDeP.rtf to various groups and integrated the volunteers that have joined the team.

May '09

Continue sending the proposal to various groups.

Put profiles of the Editorial Group in the Chaordic Institute (these pages) and start the list here.

Share proposals for Protocols, Vision and Mission for the Magazine.

Edit the Work Programme.

August '09

Consolidate Editorial Group (define Protocols and implement them).

Define Protocols, Vision and Mission for the Magazine.

Publish first 3- 5 articles.

October'09

LAUNCH MAGAZINE TO THE PUBLIC DURING IPC9

Ask for evaluacions, advice and suggestions from the Convergence.
