Intro

The first part of any good design is prolonged and careful OBSERVATION 

What are your observations regarding how our collective intelligence is working in the permaculture movement?  

Here are some suggestions for ways of observing - add your own!

Our PC Network 

PMI Analysis (Plus, Minus, Interesting)

+ very varied (ages, experiences, bioregions, interests, etc.) / muy variada (edades, experiencias, bioregiones, intereses, etc.)

+ we help each other (when we know who we are) / nos ayudamos el uno al otro (cuando sabemos quienes somos)

+ lots of knowledge, massive resource!!

- Getting too big: many don´t know each other / Se está haciendo demasiado grande: muchos no se conocen

- Re-inventing wheels (repeating errors, not learning as an organization) / Re-inventando ruedas (repitiendo errores, no estamos aprendiendo como una organización)

- I think both are comunication mistakes, growth it is not a mistake, and the repetition is happening because the protocols are not clear. - Omkar -

int - the people entitled with the responsability of sharing the permaculture approach needs an higher cultural preparation to access the tools need to respond to issues that are sourrinding the strict permaculture practical concepts (like economics - human managment - the bioregion cultural issues - national and intranational cultural issues.

3) Organizational Design

We're (arguably) still not very good at organizational design, as permies, and obvioustly its something we have to develop if we are to design any organizational structure that accomodates well our challenging requirements (eg. enable us to keep in touch with developments from permaculture colleagues, to have a thriving network in terms of fertile relationships, but without restricting us, excluding good designers and activists, or bureocratising our lives).
